Stockholm’s Underground Art Experience
Hidden beneath the bustling streets of Stockholm, ANDETAG is a 200 m² immersive art installation located within the Hötorget subway station. This unique space invites visitors to slow down and engage with a labyrinth of rooms filled with dynamic light, sound, and textile art.
About the exhibition
At the heart of the exhibition are 50 internet-connected artworks that visualize a single deep human breath. The breath, recorded from artist Malin Tadaa during meditation using a special airflow mask, serves as the data foundation for each piece.
Crafted from handwoven optical fiber textiles, each artwork glows from within, illuminated by hundreds of LEDs and animated through a generative algorithm based on her breathing. They are also synced to the solar system: whenever two of the five nearest planets align, all the pieces shift color in unison.
Created by artist duo Malin and Gustaf Tadaa, ANDETAG is designed to be a sanctuary of stillness amidst the city’s hustle. The installation encourages introspection and connection through its interactive environments that respond to breath and movement.
