The Stable at Taxinge-Näsby

In 1928, the estate was acquired by director Ernst Sjögren (1885–1969). He operated the farming and had a stud farm, which made Taxinge-Näsby well known within horse breeding circles. Sjögren focused on racehorses; Taxinge 1 and Taxinge 2 are well-known horse names. The chestnut stallion Taxinge 2 became Sweden’s most profitable horse in 1931. The large stable, a red brick building adorned with stepped gables southeast of the main building, was built in the 1930s during Sjögren’s time for his horse activities. The building is now used for exhibitions.
