Description of Stockholms Stadsmuseum

The Stockholm City Museum is housed in Södra Stadshuset at Slussen on Södermalm. The buildning was completed in 1685. [Image source:http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%B6dra_stadshuset] The Stockholm City Museum, or Stockholms Stadsmuseum in Swedish, offers exhibitions about the the history of the Swedish capital.

The building is located to Slussen, and was built in 1663-1685. It has served a lot of purposes during the centuries like prison, court, school, theatre, until it became the museum of today in 1937.

The museum covers the development of this town by the Baltic Sea, from the fortified port in the medieval ages to the capital of today.
