Description of Biologiska Museet

The Biological Museum building in Djurården, Stockholm. The museum was built in 1893, architect Agi Lindegren. The Biological Museum is situated in the beautiful surroundings of Djurgården in central Stockholm gives you the oportunity to study a comprehensive collection of Scandinavian birds and mammals in their natural habitat. A unique feature of these exhibitions is that no artificial light is used.

The stuffed animals can be seen in a variety of landscapes representing different typical Swedish landscapes. Decoration by the famous nature-painter Bruno Liljefors.

The museum was built in 1893 imitating early wodden churches in Norway (stavkyrka).

Oct–Mar: Tue–Fri 12–3pm, Sat–Sun 10am–3pm
Apr–Sep: daily 11am–4pm

Adults: 30 kr
Children 6-15 years: 10 kr
